"The act of revealing oneself fully to another and still being accepted may be the major vehicle of therapeutic help."
-Irvin Yalom
I come with an assortment of experience in the field of mental health. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a Research Analyst at Hathaway-Sycamores, a non-profit mental health agency. In that role, I analyzed client outcomes and evaluated the effectiveness of programs for children and families, particularly in the areas of co-occurring disorders and education-related mental health services.
I eventually realized I wanted to have more of a direct impact on clients, so I returned to school and began my path to becoming a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. For several years, I worked with high-risk adolescents in school settings, providing individual, group, and family therapy. I then shifted to working in residential treatment settings with individuals struggling with trauma, suicidality, eating disorders, and substance use.
I offer a non-judgmental, client-centered approach and incorporate interventions from several evidenced-based models such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I also use my own lived experiences in recovery to inform my work, while also respecting that every client's situation is unique. I strive to work collaboratively with clients to guide them in their journey towards improved wellbeing and self-worth.
