How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?
Therapy is a deeply personal experience that requires the right fit between you and your therapist. I encourage you to browse my website to learn more about me and my style. I also offer a free 15 minute phone consultation where you can get a better feel for how you may like working with me. If you decide I am not the therapist for you, I am happy to provide referrals for therapists who may be a better fit.
What happens in session?
Sessions are 50 minutes long and typically occur once a week. The first several sessions will be spent establishing our relationship and collaborating on goals that you want to work towards. In subsequent sessions we will discuss the issues you bring up while periodically revisiting your goals and progress. The duration of therapy depends on how you feel you are progressing towards your goals and when you feel ready to move on-- this is different for each person.
How much does therapy cost?
My out-of-pocket fee is $165/session. I'm also in-network with several insurance companies (see below). Also, beginning Jan 1, 2022, you are entitled to a "Good Faith Estimate" upon request.
Do you take insurance?
I am now in-network with Aetna, Optum, and Carelon Behavioral Health. If you would like to utilize your insurance, I suggest calling the number on the back of your insurance card to find out what specific mental health benefits you have.
How can I get the most out of my experience in therapy?
Therapy is most effective when there is an open and collaborative relationship between you and your therapist. When working with me, I want you to be honest about your progress and feelings towards therapy. If something isn't working, I encourage you bring it up in session so we can discuss and adapt accordingly.
